Revian's call intelligence works by pulling transcripts and recordings from your existing video conferencing platforms. We do not record calls directly. Instead, we integrate with Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams to access recordings they create.
This approach means you need specific plan levels and settings enabled on each platform before Revian can access your call data.
Important: Revian does not join your calls or record audio independently. We only access recordings and transcripts that your meeting platform has already created and stored.
Zoom requirements
Zoom cloud recording is required for Revian integration. Local recordings saved to your computer cannot be synced automatically.
Plan requirement: Zoom Pro, Business, or Enterprise
Settings to enable:
- Cloud recording must be turned on in your Zoom account settings
- Automatic recording is recommended (either for all meetings or specific ones)
- Audio transcript generation should be enabled for best results
Enabling cloud recording in Zoom
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal
- Go to Settings > Recording
- Turn on Cloud recording
- Enable Audio transcript under the cloud recording options
- Optionally enable Automatic recording to record all meetings by default
If you are on Zoom Basic (free), you will need to upgrade to access cloud recording. Zoom Basic only supports local recording, which Revian cannot access.
Google Meet requirements
Google Meet recording requires a Google Workspace subscription. Personal Gmail accounts do not include recording capabilities.
Plan requirement: Google Workspace Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise, or Education Plus
Settings to enable:
- Recording must be enabled by your Workspace admin
- Recordings are saved to Google Drive automatically
- Transcription is generated automatically for recorded meetings
Checking if recording is available
If you are the meeting organizer or have been granted recording permissions, you will see a "Record" button in the Meet interface. If you do not see this option, your organization may need to enable it.
Admins can enable recording in the Google Admin console under Apps > Google Workspace > Google Meet > Recording settings.
Microsoft Teams requirements
Teams recording availability depends on your Microsoft 365 license and organization policies.
Plan requirement: Microsoft 365 Business Basic or higher, with Teams included
Settings to enable:
- Cloud recording must be allowed by your Teams admin
- Meeting policy must permit recording for your user account
- Transcription can be enabled separately for automatic transcript generation
Admin configuration for Teams
Teams administrators control recording permissions through meeting policies in the Teams admin center. The key settings are:
- Allow cloud recording: Must be set to On
- Allow transcription: Should be enabled for best results
- Recording storage: OneDrive or SharePoint (Revian supports both)
If you cannot record meetings, contact your IT administrator to check your meeting policy settings.
What if I use multiple platforms?
Revian supports connecting all three platforms simultaneously. Each integration works independently, so you can use Zoom for customer calls, Meet for internal syncs, and Teams for cross-company collaboration. All recordings will flow into Revian regardless of which platform they originate from.
Just ensure each platform meets the requirements above and has the Revian integration connected.
