Company records in Revian give you a complete view of each account you are selling to. Link contacts to their companies, track enriched firmographic data, and understand relationships across your entire book of business.
Creating companies manually
To create a company record from scratch:
- Go to Companies in the left navigation
- Click "Add Company"
- Enter the company name and domain
- Add any additional details you have
- Click Save
At minimum, you need a company name. Adding the domain unlocks automatic enrichment and helps Revian link contacts to the company.
Auto-creation from contact domains
Revian can automatically create company records when you add contacts. If a contact has an email address and no matching company exists, Revian creates one based on the email domain.
For example, adding a contact with the email sarah@acme.com automatically creates an Acme company record if one does not exist. The contact gets linked to the company automatically.
To enable or disable auto-creation, go to Settings and find the Company Settings section. You can choose:
- Always create - Generate companies for all new contact domains
- Ask first - Prompt before creating new companies
- Never create - Only use manually created companies
Linking contacts to companies
When contacts are linked to companies, you get a unified view of all your relationships at each account. Revian links contacts automatically based on email domain, but you can also link them manually.
To manually link a contact:
- Open the contact record
- Find the Company field
- Search for and select the company
- Save the contact
You can also link contacts from the company record by clicking "Add Contact" and selecting existing contacts or creating new ones.
Tip: Contacts can only be linked to one company at a time. If someone changes jobs, update their company link to move their future activities to the new account.
Company enrichment
Just like contacts, companies can be enriched with additional data. When you add a company domain, Revian pulls information from external data sources.
Enriched company data includes:
- Industry and sub-industry classification
- Employee count (exact or range)
- Annual revenue range
- Year founded
- Headquarters location
- Technologies detected on their website
- Marketing and sales tools in use
- Infrastructure and hosting providers
- Analytics and tracking platforms
Tech stack data helps you personalize outreach and identify accounts that use complementary or competitive products.
Company insights
Revian aggregates data from all linked contacts to surface insights at the company level. On each company record, you will see:
- Total contacts - How many people you know at the account
- Recent activity - Latest emails, calls, and meetings across all contacts
- Deal summary - Open pipeline and closed revenue
- Engagement score - Overall account health based on activity
These insights help you understand account penetration and identify gaps in your coverage.
Account hierarchy
Enterprise accounts often have complex structures with parent companies, subsidiaries, and regional offices. Revian supports parent-child relationships between company records.
To set up a hierarchy:
- Open the child company record
- Find the Parent Company field
- Search for and select the parent
- Save the company
Once linked, the parent company shows aggregated data from all child companies. You can see total contacts, combined pipeline value, and activity across the entire account family.
Example hierarchy
Globex Corporation (Parent) contains Globex North America, Globex Europe, and Globex APAC as child companies. Pipeline and contacts roll up to the parent for a complete account view.
Hierarchies are especially useful for account-based selling where you need to coordinate across multiple business units or regions within a single enterprise customer.
