2. Tool Definition Quality

How many typed AI tools does the platform have, and how precisely are they defined? Vague counts are red flags. Ask to see the tool schema, not just the tool list.

Walk Away If You See These

Red flags from vendor demos: AI that generates text but does not execute actions. Consolidation claims backed by integrations rather than native capabilities. No rollback or undo mechanism. Vague or defensive answers on security architecture. Inability to demo live in a fresh environment with your use cases. Score each vendor response to the 20 RFP questions: 2 points for a specific and demonstrable answer, 1 point for a credible but vague answer, 0 points for deflection or no answer.
